FAQs

  • Absolutely not! Everyone has a pelvic floor and this muscle group works to support our daily activities regardless of if you are pregnant, postpartum, or neither.

  • Pelvic health is my speciality. I also have a background in treating orthopedics (i.e. shoulders, knees, ankles, etc.). This foundation allows me to treat with a holistic approach with the pelvic floor as the epicenter. In order to achieve success with improving your pelvic health function your body needs to be treated as a whole.

  • Anytime! Whether you have been struggling with symptoms for 3 weeks, 3 months or 3+ years, it is never too early or too late to begin your pelvic health PT journey.

If you are pregnant starting PT proactively/preventatively even before onset of any potential bothersome symptoms is even better!

  • While nothing is required, we will discuss your current symptoms in depth at your first visit so you may find it helpful to list your current symptoms and main concerns. If you are taking any medications please bring a list with you.

If there are any specific questions you would like answered and information you are hoping to understand, it may also be helpful to come with these questions written down.

Prior to your initial appointment, we kindly ask that you complete your intake paperwork 48 hours in advance with as much information as you're comfortable providing so that I can be as prepared as possible for your visit when you arrive!

  • Appointments are a full 60 minutes and will always be 1:1 will Dr. Alana.

  • Anything you feel comfortable moving in! Most of our sessions will involve physical movement, so any clothing that you feel you can move freely in will work perfectly!

If we are working on the reformer during your session (which will be planned in advance), I recommend clothing that is more form fitting to avoid the potential of your clothing getting caught in the equipment and I require socks with grips on the bottom (i.e. “sticky socks”) for your safety to ensure that you will not slip off the reformer.

  • True Form Pelvic Health & Pilates is an out-of-network provider therefore I do not take insurance. After each session, you will receive a superbill of all services completed that you can then submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. However, all charges for care are due at the time of your appointment.

Some HSA/FSA plans also cover wellness services.

I commonly inform my patients that when using insurance you will be paying co-pays ranging on average from $10-$125 per session for pelvic health PT services. If you are going to 1-2 sessions (30 -45 minutes) per week those copayments add up quickly! I would love to be able to provide you with 1:1 individualized care for a full hour without the limitations that insurance would place on us.

  • Pelvic health physical therapy is for everyone at any age, and though I have experience working with adolescents, my expertise focuses primarily on those 18+. If a client is under the age of 18 a consent to treat form must be signed by a parent/guardian.

  • I am a sole provider that will always try to be as flexible as I can be to accommodate patients. I completely understand that life can be unpredictable and things come up. With that being said, please call or email me directly ASAP if you need to cancel.

Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be subject to a $100 late-cancellation fee.

Failure to show up to a scheduled appointment without any contact will result in a full service charge.

If you are going to be late to an appointment please call when you can. Reduced rates for shorter sessions on behalf of clients arriving late are not offered.
